Distributor of the Week – Amy Jacques

The Distributor of the Week is an ongoing feature that we are proud to present weekly.
Check back every Friday as we highlight another amazing team member.

Name: Amy Jacques
Location: Brockville, Ontario
Start Date: August 2016

SL: Tell us why you decided to jump on the Sweet Ship and become an amazing member of the Sweet Team?

AJ: I wasn’t wanting to go back to my full time job after moving home from Nova Scotia; I had some money to invest in to starting my own business but I kept hitting road blocks as far as something that would be long term and sustainable. I knew about SweetLegs and I believed in being part of a Canadian company – I believed in the quality and in my ability to support my family.

SL: How has being a SweetLegs Distributor impacted your life?

AJ: Being a SweetLegs Distributor has allowed me to stay home with my kids and support them financially. It has also enabled my husband to leave his career in the military and find something closer to home, so we don’t need to move away anymore

SL: Tell us something exciting about yourself that other people may not know?

AJ: Well, I’m not sure if it’s exciting or not. I was a military spouse for 9 years and in that time I was a home support worker for 5 years in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I used to hate leggings and swore that I would only wear flare jeans for the rest of my life, and I hate lobster. I also play soccer even though I’m really bad at it.

“Never doubt yourself – you really, really CAN do what you set your mind to!”

SL: What’s your most memorable customer interaction?

AJ: At a home party there was a guest who was shy, and felt she was ‘too big’ for leggings. She suggested that she would just try on something black alone in the bathroom, but with some gentle persuasion from other guests, she ended up trying on every pattern on the table and modelling for everyone. She purchased lots of pretty patterns to Rock and Own!

SL: Share an amazing SweetLegs story with us!

AJ: My amazing SweetLegs story is most definitely entering the contest to win a trip to the SweetLegs conference. I wanted it more than anything, and decided to make a self-nomination video. I cried during the whole preparation of the video and struggled with emotion while recording. When I won, I was literally screaming and running through the house! The conference was the time of my life, I met so many amazing people, learned skills, and it ignited a new fire inside me!

SL: This is a very important question – how many donuts can you eat in one sitting?

AJ: I’m not sure… they ran out!

SL: What makes your life Sweet?

AJ: My babies I have a 10 year old daughter and a 4 year old son. My husband, my shih tzu Max (the most petted dog in town) and the wonderful connection I have made with so many powerful and strong women.
