Distributor of the Week is an ongoing feature we are proud to present weekly.
Check back every Friday as we highlight another amazing team member!
Name: Tracey McPhee
Location: Cambridge, Ontario
Start Date: August 2016
SL: What’s your SweetLegs story?
TM: I chose SweetLegs because I fell in love with the product the second I tried them on. I was always anti-leggings, but I went to a party that my best friend hosted and I tried a pair on and I was hooked. I immediately thought about selling them and thought that it would be a super fun thing to do! Now that I am a SweetLegs Distributor, I can honestly say that this company has changed my life!
SL: How has being a SweetLegs ID impacted your day-to-day life?
TM: So. Many. Ways. This opportunity has allowed me to get back on my feet financially as a single mother supporting my three growing boys. It has allowed me to provide more opportunities to my children to engage in extra curricular activities, family outings, and also to help teach my children that working hard pays off. I have met so many amazing people – customers who have become invaluable friends, sweet sisters who have also become invaluable friends, and of course numerous opportunities for me to be able to give back to members of the community through various fundraising initiatives.
SL: Tell us something exciting about yourself that others may not know?
TM: I have done several other home based businesses – Mary Kay, Weekenders, Pampered Chef, hand made blankets – I have always dreamed of owning my own business. ❤️
SL: What is your secret skill?
TM: I can wiggle my ears without touching them!
SL: What is your most memorable customer interaction?
TM: I think my most memorable interaction was the first boy who ever bought a pair of SweetLegs from me. He was about 8 years old. He bought them to wear under his hockey uniform and after he put them on, he came out and literally danced around with joy for about 10 minutes!! He was so excited and loved how they were so soft!!! It was so funny and adorable!!
“This is so much more than selling SweetLegs!”
SL: Share an amazing SweetLegs story with us?
TM: One of my best customers volunteered to attend a very large event to help me. I didn’t ask – she volunteered. This was a two day event and a huge commitment for her and she went out of her way to help me. I am forever grateful for the amazing generosity I see in people – and I also had another customer of mine offer their “away from home home” (cottage) for me to stay at during this same event!!! It goes to show that kindness goes an awful long way and I truly believe that! This is so much more than selling SweetLegs!
SL: Have you learned any lessons from running your own SweetLegs business? Any advice for future SweetLegs entrepreneurs?
TM: Start out small and grow your business. Going into debt is not the ideal way to start out. Ease your way in and start slowly. Much less stressful and you will
see your growth that much easier. Be sure to keep your receipts, and never underestimate what you’re capable of! The sky is the limit!
SL: What makes your life Sweet?
TM: Being able to be independent! I love being able to buy those little extras for myself and boys with my SweetLegs business.
